Is there a way to find out if the B14 is truly an SE-R, what about the motor is there a way of finding out if the SR20 is the original from factory??

Do a little searching, There is a code in the vin that tells you what motor was in it.

Check the Vin # on the inside of the driver side door , there will be a lable that shows either sr20de or ga16de also the Vin # should match the one on your dash and on the fire wall of the car near the intake plenum.

Well lets see.....you got the vin, the sideskirts, the motor, the rims, the cluster, and I think rear disc brakes? Those are some of the standard things the 200SX SE-R has. Idk all of them tho, I'm a B13 guy.

Right, but if it's not a stock hood, then what?

Seriously, check the VIN of the car. That alone would tell you if it were an SE-R, or an SE in a previous life. I highly doubt that anyone would go to the lengths to change the dash so that the VIN matched the motor/tranny/firewall etc.
