Driveability issues when car is warm?
I have spark, injectors click when I turn the distributor by hand, I have fuel pressure, I don't have any air leaks that I know of, I've done a comp test and came out with 180, 175, 175, 180 across all four (I thought I had blown hg). The coolant is murky though and the oil seems watery, although I just did an oil change with 5w30. When its cold the car goes at all throttle positions, no hesitation or stumbling, but when it warms up that's where I start having the driveability issues. Part/wot throttle the car starts to misfire and it feels like a rev limiter, it will still accelerate but power is reduced. Problem gets worse as the car gets hotter. Any ideas?

Compression test won't show a HG issue with a failure between a water and oil line?

That wouldn't cause the other issues though...

That's what I was thinking, I have no idea at this point though. I forgot another thing, the fans run with the key in the on position... what does this mean? Anything? nothing?

Means either the coolant is over 212*F or your ECU is in limp mode. I think we found the problem. Sounds like you're in limp mode.

I thought limp mode really affected the car, and consistently, not just when it's hot? It drives normal when it's cold.

Oh... Right... Your coolant temp sensor is fucked. The 2-wire one that goes to the ECU. Duh...

That would cause the fans on all the time, and the car would run fine when cold (open loop) but then would run poorly when warm (closed loop).

Got one on the way!

So they can fail both ways, not just reading high, but stuck reading low.. good to know. Thanks

I'm thinking yours is stuck reading high since the fans are on all the time. But it could be stuck low, and maybe the fans turn on anyway as a precaution since it knows the CTS is borked.
