Cat ground?!
My catalytic converter isn't grounded right now and hasn't been for awhile now. I would like to reground it. I do know for a fact that one end of the ground is attached to a exhaust hanged near it. But where the other end connects is the issue. Any one have an idea? I didn't know if it would be ok to ground directly to the cat or to the heat shield or around it.

Any one have an idea?

The cat ground is attached to the rubber flange that holds the cat.

I've found other places for the ground, heat shield bolt etc. Now I don't really need it because I have a 4-wire o2 sensor.

Vadium is correct.. The best grounding spot we found for the exhaust is at the cat mounting bolts. The purpose of the grounding strap is for the O2 sensor(s). We are also testing 4-wire O2 sensors (which has a grounding wire) which eliminates the need for the exhaust ground strap. Both ways work and are effective with OEM header/downpipe. But if you have a Stainless Steel Header/downpipe, then exhaust grounding characteristics decline tremediously and changing both O2 sensors to 4wire sensors for SS applications appears to be the best solution.

PM me Sentrixx if you need some additional info.

Wayne, I told you to use that 4-wire O2 sensor that you got up front

What mounting bolts? They ones that attach to the cat and the downpipe? Or the ones that attach to the exhaust hangers?

Mine is attached to the hanger right now but I need to know where to attach the other end. Cat bolt....exhaust sheld.. etc.. Somewhere?!

The CAT ground had a metallic gasket with a wire welded on to it that goes to the Exhaust hanger rubber on the right, there it was attached to something else

That I know.. I understand that it's connected to the body from the hanger. Now were should the other end be connected to on the cat?

(hanger)(connector)-------(wire)-------(connector)(missing)(cat)
