Millennium Tech is who I use for all the 2-stroke jugs we need replated from ATVs or snowmobiles. Can definitely attest to their quality, and they're willing to take on almost any job.

Thanks guys. I've found only one place so far that's willing to mess with it. Embee Performance out in Cali. I'll check into Millenium. Thanks.

That's one process for doing it. There are several ways to nickel plate something. And most platting companies that I have dealt with carry the equipment to plate anything in any metal or finish you want.

Working in engineering dealing with water and wastewater systems we have to spec this stuff (mainly copper and zinc) alot.

no one wants to deal with tolerances I'm assuming. Lots of plating companies around me but no one will plate cylinders.

Oooooooh I see now. I thought initially when you asked about it that you were just nickel plating a block or accessories to make it shine pretty My apologies.

You're actually talking about nickel plating the cylinder walls and slugs? Or just the slugs? Or?

You should try a company that does snowmobile and motorcycle parts. People nickel plate that crap all the time.

Again just to cover it for the misinformation content you do not have to use the patented process of Nikasil (electrodeposited lipophilic nickel matrix silicon carbide). This is only one process and there are a couple processes that can accomplish the same thing that people do all the time.

Try US Chrome yet

It works best if you send them the pistons along with the block. I just had this done on my racebike. Let me ask who my mechanic sent the jug to. All i know is it was expensive... it cost me like 250-300 I think and that was only ONE cylinder.

This place repairs cylinders on Porsche's: Cylinder Reconditioning
Per this article here: Machining New Metals - Nickel Silicon Carbide Coatings: Engine Builder
they use Millenium Technologies http://www.mt-llc.com/tour/tech.html for the Nikasil plating.

Again, it is not just nickel plating. Adding silicon carbide to the solution changes the process quite a bit. More information here: Nikasil nickel-silicon plating, what is it and how is it done?
