P11 tranny question! Help

Tool the p11 tranny off because I thought the seals were bad and after checking the tranny out I seen this hole. Is it normal? I doubt it.

Yes it is standard.

That hole is so if the input shaft seal fails, the oil will dribble out here instead of running along the spines and all over the clutch plate.
