Thread: Need to make decision

So im in a bind on what i should do to achieve my goal. The situation is i blew my headgasket on my current setup(Sr20de-T).I bought JDM motor that came with a burned up cam bearing(PISSED ME OFF). I didnt realize until after i drilled the block. So no warranty for me. I have a extra head so im just going to get that head pressured checked and resurfaced and get some dual valve springs and seals for it. I dont know if i should just get the head checked and new parts installed or get a port job while im there?? i got 300whp on current setup already but im looking for 350whp this time around.
My current setup:
-Gt2871(13pis)
-subie STi injectors
-UK stock motor(10:1)
-JWT ecu
-3inc exhaust
-Z32 MAF

I assume you're talking about getting aftermarket valve springs and retainers. Are you trying to rev passed 7.5k - 8k? If not, I don't see a reason the get aftermarket ones. Get your extra head tested, swap it over with some new head studs, new bearings, turn that boost up to 15lbs and retune. 350whp remedy there. Just my $0.02 and what I would do in your position.

I would invest in a set of s4 cams instead of the valve springs and retainers. the stock setup will handle 8k rpm. the cams will allow you to make more power at a lower boost level.
