Thread: RPMs and temp gauge stutter???¿

Weird. My rpms bouncing and temp gauge as well.. When I accelerate temp gauge bounces.

Check the gauge sender connection. If thats good then you need to bleed you coolant and check for leaks. You RPMS are bouncing cause the coolant temp sensor is switching the tune from one thing to another everytime water stops touching it.

You sure you didnt take the plastic cover off your gauges?

maybe its your alternator....lol jk

I had this happen when one of my grounds had a weak connection. Car ran fine and no other issues. Cleaned up the ground point and bouncing needle went away.

start with the easy stuff. open the hood and look for the things that look like my writeup on coolant temperature senders for photos. pull of the one pronged, clean it up nice, reattach.

lie on your back with your feet by the headrest of the seat, recline it all the way back first - then reach up and push the connectors in a little - mebbe it was dislodged. Then go back under your hood and look at the back of the intake manifold. There's like 2 bolts 10mm back there, make sure they are snug.

I have the exact same issue. Going to start with bleeding the system, if that doesnt work Ill go ahead and buy a new temp sensor. Update it if you can when you find out the issue.

ive had the temp gauge do this before and it was the connector loose, and another time it was air in the system.

Does it do it before and after the t-stat opens?
