I wish you were my next door neighbor Ben! Lol!
Well my idle has always been tweaked, only idling with a warm motor as previously stated. Having had a mild street tune solely to dial in WOT, with a warm motor at idle and cruising, my AFRs hovered rich around 12.5. WOT was and still is perfect. After many idle battle attempts I realized it may just be a tuning issue with idle AFR'S basically being backwards. Lemme explain:
Cold motor start up AFR's would be lean around 14.5-15 while a warm motor, like I said, was rich around 12.5.
NOW...after parking my car in October till just this past March, having started the car maybe twice and only changing the battery, idle warm or cold doesn't exist and AFR's are at --- lean. Cruising speeds yield anywhere from 14.5-17, generally hovering around 15.5 or 16.
Now one might say what's the problem? AFR's seem legit just needing some tweaking to fatten up those 16's and 17 spikes while crusing and neutral to bring it to an idle. BUT, before I parked her 5+ months ago she was rich. Although I've gained probably 50+ miles per tank there is a problem.
You said maybe the ecu is reading the iacv but maybe the iacv isn't responding. How do I determine if the iacv is non responsive?
I can set my idle speed in realtime anywhere from 0 rpm to 9,000 rpm and my idle stays right where it is, nothing. Sometimes she will catch an idle and it's around 1,500 rpm but soon as I go and come to a stop again the idle is gone. If I put her Into timing mode (if I catch an idle) the idle stays right where it is.
Sorry to toss so much at once. I hope to hear back from you again. I've always looked to you as an informational authority around here. I built my damn motor and haven't payed a shop for anything other than tires and exhaust in over 7 years. I don't wanna start pissing my money now. I'd almost be inclined to sell the whole car first :-( <-----won't happen!!!!!!
