Mixed up internals.
Hi all,
This is not the first engine rebuild I've done but this time I have made the mistake of mixing up the pistons/rods and rod caps
I've been reading that the rods have numbers stamped on them telling which cylinder they came from, the only numbers I can see stamped on the rods are exactly the same for 2 of them.

If I'm fitting new bearings does it matter if the caps are mixed up?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

I believe the number on the rods are for the grade of rod bearing. don't think it matters where they go between cylinders

for future reference it does matter, when the rotating assembly is balanced its best to keep them in the original place...I don't think mixing up rod caps would be a deal breaker as long as they all use the same bearing...
