Alternator issue
installed this new alternator today.
road around for 20 mins and all was fine, im happy.
2 hours later:
start my car and i hear screaming from the bay, im pissed.
see the alternator pulley shaking really bad.
get scared i hurt the bearings so i shut car off and loosen the alternator tension-er.
the screaming stopped but the pulley shook worse.
tightened the pulley tension-er alot, screaming and shaking stopped but it maybe all in my head i think the pulley shakes very very little.
i think its in my head.
There is a strange sound in the bay now, sounds like a old ford or chevey, but much higher pitched noise.

Sounds like your is fielding!!!! Was your battery dead when you replaced the alternator? Check charging voltage at battery?

Well its a aftermarket replacement, I have no idea.
Ill bust out my digital caliper and measure the pulleys, and the distance the pullys from the alt. I hope its this simple.

Fielding? Ill have to research that, thanks.
My safc2 voltage meter shows its charging fine and everything seems normal. Ill get my battery tested. But no the battery wasn't dead per se but it was really low a few times before I fixed the alt since I had to jump the car a few times with no alternator
