SSAC Header secondary plug
Hey guys.

I was wondering what the secondary bung is for on this SSAC header next to the O2 Sensor bung.

I thought sure it was a secondary O2 sensor bung for a wideband but when I went to go install it it was way bigger.

I'm sure there is something this size that I am simply forgetting about....

Stock manifold has an adapter for the O2 sensor, does that do the same? Im thinking it's the same thing as Nissan did with their manifold, larger threaded hole (for some reason I dont know) with an adapter that brings it down to our O2 size.

Just go in, get a big b olt that fits in the hole, and go go a exhaust shop and have it welded in if youc ant find one.

Here is a pic of my stock mani before I removed it. It had one bung for the O2 without an adapter.

Just curious if this is intended for purposes that I am not aware of.

Actually there is an adapter in there. That big-ass hex you see under the O2 does unscrew. That adapter is also the exact same size and thread for the EGR port on the upper right of that photo.

are you looking to put in wideband, or are you just trying to plug the hole?

I was going to stick a wideband in there.

ok, just asking cause it may take some work to get that adapter out. Didnt want to recommend that if all you were doing was trying to plug it up.

Secondary plug is for the IAV. Back in the old days with original high ports, they didn't have enough fresh oxygen in the exhaust so the cat wouldn't work too well. Thus the AIV was introduced, which adds oxygen to help the cat burn the exhaust properly.
