Axle question
Im getting a remanufactured passenger side axle from Autozone. I know, I know, but for now will do. It is for my B14 which is completely stock and automatic. I went to buy it yesterday and the one they got did not have the damper on the shaft. I told them to try to get me a different one to see if it comes with the damper. They ordered another one and it will arrive tomorrow.

I read some some posts here regarding car having some vibration if the axle don't have this damper. Now, the crazy question, can you take the old ones and some how put them in the new axle?

Counter balance?

You mean Damper right?

Yes you will get vibration without the damper. If we are talking about the thing in the middle of the axle.

**Edit**

Yes you should be able to take the damper off your old axles and install them on this one. Just a lot more work for you to do. I would just go to your dealer and get a new axle damper kit (consist of the damper and the rings).

**Edit**

Oops just saw your is a B14. That sucks because those are part of the axle. Not sure if they are counter weights or what, but in any event, you should be able to take the old ones apart and place them on the new axles. If you were going to go this far though you probably should have just rebuilt your axles.

Yep, that's it. I did not know how to call it. I fixed.

I would just buy a new part.
I got a brand new axle made by Cardone for the same price as the re-manufactured crap from AZone.
