OP.. take it as lesson learned and move on. You now KNOW to do your research first. For me, the cool thing is you got an NX, which is getting to be pretty rare to start with that happens to be boosted. Also, you were able to find and fix the issues pretty quickly (kudos to you). Enjoy the car for what it is. And don't tell me you don't get a big shit eatin' grin every time you drive the car.

X2, notthing like have a wel tuned SR tearing the tires loose loose.

Feels even better on Drag radial or slicks.

I would definitely agree that a DE whether RR or not is more noob friendly for tuning than a VE.

Picture of your old setup, very simple and fun.

Wheel size.

Yeah, those are the pics when I was stripping the car. I wish I took pics of it complete, looked nearly oem with AC and all.

I miss my P10.

Anybody want to trade a P10 for B13?

Alright well here is the thread I have on both of my cars. Sorry I have not updated my progress on the NX yet. My digi cam is in the crapper and I will get some pics made after I install my header.

Well I will go today and check the junkyard for a lowport SR intake manifold and possibly a 94 harness ideally if they werent so damn hard to come by. I can let you guys know if I find anything.

I don't have too much money to splurge on a VVL head since I am leaving to study in Europe soon but until then I want to have a car I can enjoy while I am here and when I come back. It will be pretty much a garage queen at that point sitting beside my dads half restored 67 camaro while I am gone. Just to keep another B13 from turning into a rust bucket from sitting around in the elements.

And no I love my blue VC I think the NEOVVL catches eyes at the occasional honda meets I stop in at. Its always the "Whaa?? Nissan has VTAK!!??" and also most of them don't know what they are looking at on SR20's anyway. I'm in VA and it seems like I never see SR20's around here, or anything Nissan that isn't riced around with and no money to keep it running right.

I paid $5k for my Sentra SE-L in 2006, that was a premium price to pay for a Sentra even back then. Turned out to be a sludge monster, engine swap later and unlimited knowledge later I don't really regret it.

Honestly your better off with a RR and small framed turbo anyway. VE, with regular 20VE cams, really doesn't like restrictive setups. On my VE with GTiR mani and 20VE cams I'm making around 230whp on 8psi. Dropped $450 towards some VET cams, now she is making about 260whp on 7 psi. So basically unless your wanting to go big and spend a ton VE doesn't really shine.

Anyway, a few things that I should mention about your setup so that others can learn from it.
- Blue VE Valve Cover = SR16VE, not 2.0.
- Intake manifold is a Roller Rocker one, very different from VE or any other SR20
- IACV - Roller rockers use a very different IACV, it's a step motor, it's hard/probably not possible to use it with a non 32bit ECU. This is why he has a screw for idle and not a properly functioning IACV.

30whp with a set of cams at less boost level isnt great?

NOPE, in mother Russia if you don't make 1hp for every $1, your paying too much.

Looks like no lowport SR20's at the junkyard. There was a 94.5 P10 that HAD one in it but I lucked out and all that was left over was the autotragic tranny and the harness was cut to crap and the ECU was white plug OBDII. Now there is a 93 P10 there also that still has the motor completely in tact but its a highport mani. All I did there was take the ECU and VC on that one. Looks like I will be waiting for a while until I find another lowport manifold

Anyways thanks guys for all the advice. I'm pretty new to the forum and I love it!

hey man sorry someone pulled a fast one on you with your "VE". On a good note, I really like the RR motor, its really a under estimated motor that shines in reality. Vadim did a test stock for stock on VE vs. RR and the cars compared had near identical speeds and response (iirc trap speed too) Fix that turbo and you wont really care if its vvl or not

Also im not really sure what harness your running now or ecu. but if its a stock RR harness right now...

its really simple to get that IACV issue straightened out im sure you researched already. As far as wiring goes for that RR harness Vadim also made a thread that shows you exactly how to do it. I know your strapped for cash but all these steps wont burn holes in your pocket im sure!

There are a TON of LP p10's in the junk yard 30 mins my from home, if you want i can arrange for me too pull you a IM and a harness. ( you will need a 99 g20 or b14 harness (16bit ecu) for that IM and splice that into your RR harness) Hit me up if your interested and dont give up on this car!

but

if its a b13 ecu and harness on the RR engine then all you need is that IM and your good to go. just grab a fresh IM->Engine gasket from Nissan
