3rd gear fork
This is the second time I have broken the fork for 3rd and fourth gear. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way of preventing this? Any particular cause? Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

Sounds like a problem a Honda boy will have. lmao. But no sir, have never had it happened. The only way I can think of it happening would be a weak fork or You sir are slamming into 4th gear way to hard.

As far as i know the forks get f-ed up by hard shifts into 3rd and 4th....next time try valvoline 85-140 gear oil.....stuff is amazing!

We are supposed to be running GL4 gear oil, I am not so sure valvoline has that.

Trust me....you will wear out your engine before the gear oil does anything to your tranny....people have been running it for years with no issues....i`m at about 5 or 6 months and while i have 3rd gear pop out thats cause the previous owner let the gear oil get to low and i`m sure he was doing alot of hard 2nd to 3rd upshifts as was i .....hehe

I have that legendary whining 3rd gear. I am still not sure what causes that. Hope it wasnt from low gear oil.

This is not a failure I've ever heard of on our cars.
