Thread: Just picked up a VE/RR oil pump. But my pickup looks diff...

turbo guys running restrictors on the VE with all that oil pressure??

Already have them for all the small frame and ball bearing turbos anyway. These pump are important to me for the off idle and mid range oil pressure they maintain vs. the stock pump. A lot of the oil issues (spun bearings, etc.) seem to be happening on the DE motors (I understand it does happen on the DET and VE motors, just much lower percentage).

nope, just stuck with the smaller -3 an oil feed line. No problems with blowing seals or any of that. Had i gone with -4 an line, then yes, I would have ran a restrictor.

Are the pick up tubes different between these two pumps? I.e. shorter or longer than the other?

They are the same.

So, to refresh the post a bit

I have a SR20DE UK, so its a 10:1 CR one with the red cover

My qouestion is colud this work?
VE pump
DE pickup (or only the VE can be bolt on, does it clear the DE oil sump)
DE pully
and a pully spacer that clears the pully from the oil pump

Will it be still in level with alternator, A/C, water and steering pump pulley?

Mr Miko duo you know by chance know the difference in width of the oil pump gear between the VET oil pump and DET (non GTiR) oil pump ??
