There should also be a fuel line from the top of the pump to the tank cover. You just removed that for the picture, yes?
A little zip tie never hurt anyone...
This is my XE. When I got the car I noted in the paperwork from the previous owner that the fuel pump had been replaced. The car was experiencing stalling out issues which is part of the reason I got it for $450. I replaced fuel hoses between the hardline and the tank because some hack who worked on it previously just threw in standard fuel hose not rated for high pressure, I figured the same guy did the fuel pump.
I was still having issues, so I thought the replacement fuel pump might be on it's way out. Why not let Nissan pay for it under the recall, right?
Anyway, while it was in on Wednesday the dealer called me and gave me the line that there were parts broken/missing from the previous pump install. I could either wait 3-4 days for the plastic peices that surround the pump, or they could rig it like the one they removed. I'm always suspisious of stealerships and I figured they were trying to squeeze me for a couple bucks, so I told them to do the best they could without ordering the new parts.
I got it back Wednesday night, then yesterday on my lunch break the car shut off and would not restart. I had it towed home and after work last night I found the pressure hose popped off the pump because they re-used a shitty squeeze clamp.
I took half the day off today, put the hose back on with a real clamp, snapped some pics while I had it open then drove to the dealer to inform them that they suck.
