After searching for months on craigslist I found my 94 sentra se-r and got it for a steal $750. Now half a year later I still love my car so much, plus these cars are rare now and I like being different unlike those played out civics you see on every corner. lol So how did you get into Nissan????? share your story

That's hilarious - My name is Davis and I got mine in 94 because everybody else had a civic or integra. My pops bought it for me as well.. at 1st I was all about systems and cruising until everyone wanted to go fast all of a sudden. hahaha!! I was looking for rims when someone told me about a possible "muffler shop" that does import stuff just to find out when I got there it's a full chassy-up shop. They had nothing but "core" parts and I'm looking around like what the heck does anyone want with this stuff?? LOL!! Ended up making friends and new family, was taught by some of the greatest ever and toured a couple different circuits for a few years.

my first car was a 01 dodge neon hunter green at 16 loved it thought it was fast since it was a 2.0 and would beat civics by a nose lol! i remember my brother in law at the time i was like 12 would have a gutted b13 se-r running the streets owning everything sounded like a track car haha i sold my neon to some dipship who liked it! i bought a 1.6 sentra se drove it lovedd it sold it bought a junker se-r looked like it was dead a few years. i towed it home fixed the body put a jdm de was loving it a few months. my homie sold me his VE i now have in my car! and am gathering JDM sunny parts for it ready for paint and then drop in a VET

When i lived in jamaica i use to love seeing sunny gts and the super saloons but i really wanted an evo 5, when i came here to visit back in 1998 my aunt had an b13 se-ras her daily (she had no clue what she had, she just kept wondering why guys kept flagging her down to buy her car) i knew something was different didnt look like a regular sentra and because evos werent available here i started doing research on them. at the time i was only 12 or 13 but it became the car i had to have when i learned that you can swap a gtir motor in them. i remembered seeing gtirs racing in jamaica at vernam field and they were some of the fastest things out there.

my aunts car died when i was 16 (rod knock), she never changed the oil, but the body was immaculate and she offered to give it to me, but because i was in the process of moving i had no where to store it so she ended up junking it. MINT b13 no rust no sun roof no abs it was a sad day. But i already had 4 years or researching under my belt and i wanted to be different than everyone else who were getting eg hatches at the time, so i hunted down another and bought it and put all my research to test! i dont think theres a part of a sentra that i havent touched lolol

Love these clasic "CLASIC" stories ! Some of us who had these back in the early to mid 90's never knew what a DET or VE was or even existed . Funny how far we have come with these . Cant imagine a b13 back then making 250+ allmotor or 300+ boosted. Although turbo mag came on the sceen in the early to mid 90's with that boost white clasic if you guys recall ..

I still have a copy somewhere, along with a shitload of "vintage" Sport Compact Car mags.

Back in NY when i got out of high school a friend of mine got a NX2000. It was an ugly POS but was fast. I ended up moving to FL and needed a cheep car but i wanted something fast. I found a NX2000 with a JDM SR20 in it out by Orlando and i picked it up, found this fourm and never looked back. If it wasnt for this community I doubt i would still be driving a FWD SR20.

He still has that car, fully bolted VE now but between the two of us we probably have close to a dozen SR's in various configurations and completeness. He has two B13's and a hardbody pickup and I have had 2 b14's and now have my s13. We both still track our SR's together 18 years later.

Your mom wanted me to take the SE-R back to the dealer because she didn't like it. 3 hours of hassling just to get the car and she wanted me to take it back. The dealer laughed at me when I tried to return it 2 days later. On the way home I drove the shit out of it and didn't realize how fast the car was. At the time I didn't know what an SE-R was. The car was in the middle of a car lot barely visible when I first saw it, had a 92 Sentra E as a trade in that the ex had picked out brand new then. Dealer now wanted me to buy a 4 door Altima 5 speed manual. Took a test ride in both the 94 SE-R and the Altima and something about that SE-R clicked. Since it didn't have a sunroof it sat out in the car lot for a while and they couldn't sell it in AZ because of not having one. I have always had the underdog mentality so I searched for anything SE-R related and found out Car & Driver had it on their Top 10 best car list all 4 years. 18 years and another B13 SE-R later I couldn't be happier. Now I see a B13 SE-R maybe once every 3-6 months if that. The ones that know what they have take care of them and understand that even though it's a very small part of the Nissan Performance Heritage it has earned that place for the Nissan faithful. Gotta admit though, the S chassis DE-Ts do look sweet when done up right. Wonder if some of the OGs remember the SE-R Mailing List back in the day as well as the early days of the other SR Forum.
