Thats def my story! But then you move on to other cars and slap a T25 back on just to drive it and not break shit!

Its funny cause its waaaaaaaay cheaper to do a turbo setup on these cars then it is to do anything else to make them fast.

I'm a cheap ass, and a planner. So I keep my eye out for good deals and when I get some spending money I already know what I want and how much I'm going to pay for it. If i can get virtually the same thing for cheaper then somewhere else, I do it! Ask Vadim, I'm always pm'ing him with the great deals I get. LOL.

On the other hand I wont buy things i know for fact are garbage, I do have a certain level of standard that must be met. I got burned on that hks bov, but it wont happen again.

It also helps when you get to making friends with guys on here an they hook ya up

I've been watching your build. I remember a guy on here at one point using a Volvo turbo from the junk yard, a modded avenir manifold, and a cheap $100 eBay piping fmic and bov kit and was boosted for less than $200-300.

ive never been budget minded when it came to any of my cars.

why buy shit because its cheap. i buy it because i want it and its a quality piece. if i cant afford it then i just dont buy it.

budget builds tend to be shitty cars all around, just the way i see it.

of coarse we all look for the best prices, and good deals, but slapping some shitty parts together just doesnt make sense to me.

Well, I drive a Vermont rust bucket with 170k on the clock. Im in the market for something nicer but wouldn't mind playing around with this car until it blows up and then scrapping it. I'm not trying to drop much money into a car that I plan on taking to the scrap yard in <6 months.

I will say though, I bought the rotted bucket 2 years ago just to drive through the winter and I'm still driving it, and it sees redline daily. You can't kill this thing.

i dont use shitty parts, i just hunt around for deals, every part on my car is a very good brand, i have no "cheap parts" on my car what so ever, i just hunt ebay and local ads for great deals on parts. I barter alot whether its trading other parts or labor for parts, and most importantly i never follow the crowd or use parts that are "in style" or thats a fad, i have no problem using older style parts that work.

for instance i still have a tial 40mm wastegate and a greddy type r blow off valve on my car, both wonderful scores on ebay, got them both for less than $100 total, thats how i budget build my car. both parts do their job wonderfully with no issues. My aem was another score right of this forum, a 50% discount and it was pretty much bnib, guy plugged it up started up his car and decided to go back to jwt.

at the end of the day knowledge really is power!

i can relate, ive had 1 some what pos nx2k. it was auto, a bit rusty, with a header and hypercoils. i did a few interior apperance mods but that was it. it didnt make sense putting any decent parts on a car that was a piece.

thats all that i was implying.

to me it would make much better sense to save the money on the parts and put it towards a cleaner car.

ive always been one for only building from a very clean slate.
