Thread: Looking at a p11 sunday

Main thing is, i want something i can work on, im tired of this 08 sentra and the shit goign wrong with it, and the dealer going oh theres nothing wrong...theres nothing wrong...When i knwo there is. Its not as peppy as it used to be, i beleive its the cvt tranny going out. At least i know the wife would love the g20, its big for the kids, i can work on it, and i can make it look really good. Im goign to try to get them down to 5-5.5 for it. I want to get otu of our 350 a month payment down to 150 with the other kid on the way, and since workers comp is giving me some issues...id really like a smaller payment with something if the motor does go out, i could drop a ve in.

Dan fwiw I don't trust berg car company. Lots of their cars are junk and they want way too much money for them. Also I think that g20 was for sale at the infiniti dealership down the road from me a couple months ago? Berg is right around the corner from me. I can probably go look at that G for you but I'm watching dogs for the next few days.

I dont trust them either. But luckily i know what to look for with sr cars,and will check it from top to bottom, and get the price lowered. Pretty much i figure if anything goes wrong with the motor, drop in a ve, and do it as a auto ve for the wife to drive and have some real fun with.

I think I saw it at the Infiniti dealership too. They wanted $9k

Well I had a little time so I went and looked at it. Here's what I can remember...

Does have 121k miles. I asked if it came from the Infiniti dealership. The guy said they got it from an auction. It might be the one from the Infiniti lot but I don't know, I think that other car was cleaner. He said they (Berg) just had the transmission rebuilt on this car. It had been sitting a couple weeks when I got there. Front right tire was really low. Car was a little slow to start but once it fired up it runs smooth. I looked under the oil fill cap and the engine looks clean inside actually from what I could see. Look around the oil filter area I thought I saw some oil/grime on some clips that seemed a little odd. Engine bay has been detailed I think.

Damage: Headlights are weathered. Minor damage on drivers front fender. Minor vertical crease on passenger rear door. 1/2'' gouge on passenger door panel (inside car). Piece missing from sunroof sliding cover but sunroof works good. Body lines seem fine though. Overall the interior is pretty decent. Some minor wear on drivers seat but no funny smells and it's presentable overall. With new headlights the outside would look presentable. Minor scuffs on bumpers but I don't think the car has been wrecked.

Has heated seats, they seem to work. Has A/C, blows cold. I asked if they had any maint. records and he said he didn't think so. I assume they have papers for the trans rebuild but I didn't specifically ask.

I drove the car and it rides smooth. Made me want the damn thing actually. Pulled a little to the right but it could be the low tire. Brakes feel good. These cars have a terrible turning radius though wtf? Slow as possible but shifts smooth. On deceleration I thought I may have heard a slight whine but I haven't had an automatic car in so long it could be normal.

Overall I would say it's worth your drive to check it out if they are willing to work with you. Guy I dealt with was named Andy and he was nice and also has back issues. He said he'll be there Sunday.

Thanks man i appreciate it. Im goign to tell them i wont go over 5 for it, rebuilt transmission or no, i can get one private party for 3k in better shape. See if i can get them down to at least 5.5 then. Thanks burton.

Do not get an Auto P11! Do not get a stock P11 above $5k!



You have to look around, all of the dealers think they have gold when they find a P11. Real values are way lower then they keep on thinking it's Infiniti badge is worth.

My last p11 cost me $3k for 110k miles, 5 speed with LSD (G20t).

Cant get a 5 speed, wife cant,a nd wont learn stick, and i want a auto with my nerve issues in my left leg so its easier for me to drive. I have a VERY hard time driving stick with my left leg being messed up.

My 99 is an auto. I love the fuck out it. Accelerates slow but you aren't racing the thing. Cruises smooth at 80mph with decent passing power. The car looks good but damn thats way too expensive, at least for me. Good luck man.
