Thread: tranny issue after i had a wheel alignment at the shop

wassup guys here is my issue that i need advice for.braught the car for an alignment at pepboys.im guessing the mechanc that jumped in my car was a green horn.when he switched the gear into reverse and first he grinded the shit out of it.didnt think much of it. I installed a jwt clutch and pressure plate baught from the man mr.miko along with a fidanza flywheel.what im realizing now after driving the car from work n back.when the clutch is pressed in the tranny makes a rubbing squealing sound for 10 15 seconds then becomes quiet.also now when i turn the wheel you hear a clunk sound two times when i turn it all the way left then right.i have the ksport coilover suspension.the drop in the front is very minimal.also have suspension technique front sway bar in the front only wit polys. Anybody ever experiece these noises.they are bothering me as my father and i spent a lot of time taking this tranny out to do the clutch setup and set suspension.please help.thanke in advance

ForGot to add. There is no shifting difference.still shifts smooth. Thanks in advance again

make sure the driver side axles in all the way?

Driverside axle was. Never taken out. The turning noise started as soon as the car left the garage after the wheel alignment. Everytime I turn one revolution on the steering wheel you would here a clunk noise

You did a clutch install and were too afraid to do the alignment yourself?! Compared to doing a clutch, adjusting toe is cake.

True but I'd trust a computer, assuming its done properly

Pep Boys, done properly and trust just doesn't work in the same sentence. The only thing I use Pep Boys for is to dump my old oil.


Unless it's being taken to a race shop that specializes in race setups, I prefer to do it myself. Most general repair places use the "close enough for hand grenades" approach and go with a spec range. Which is usually not the ideal setup for the performance minded.
