new guy with questions
Hi names Dave. I just wanted to say thank you guys and gals for letting noobs post. on to my question.
I am thinking about buying a nx2000 sr20det. I dont know alot about the sr20 in the nx2000, much less a turboed one in the nx. this is what the listing says. seems like limited info to me. any insight? what should I find out?

here it is:

Hi i have a 1993 Nissan NX2000, it is a very nice car that has zero problems. Zero check engine lights, the body has 175000 miles on the body the engine has roughly around 25,000 on it now, it is the Sapphire Blue which is a very rare color, the car is extremely dependable an run to drive. The list of mods include:

Engine:

Rebuilt SR20 DET
JDM 8:5:1 CR Flat top pistons
Pulsar GTI-R (NISMO) cam
Magnaflow Can (Sounds great not raspy)
Cometic Head Gasket
ARP head studs
GTI-R T28 Turbo, with S14 TO4B Compressor Housing @ 18 lbs
Tubular Turbo Manifold With Heat Wrap
3" Mandrel Bent Exhaust Turbo back with large resonator and magnaflow muffler
GTI-R Individual Throttle Bodies
Aeromotive AFPR
444cc Injector @ 4 bar
Port And Polished Head
FMIC
Sard BOV
Nissan Maxima MAF Sensor
Chipped ecu, (Tuned)

Drivetrain:

Upgraded to a 2001 Infinity G20T Transmission (alot stronger)
ACT full face street disc with F1 HD pressure plate

Does this Sound like a good NX2K? thanks for your time and input.

If that is a proper GTi-R engine (54C head) then that list makes sense. Otherwise it has pretty crappy cam, intake manifold that doesn't belong, and some fucked up injectors that aren't really designed for the ECU...
I don't like to see different compressor housings either.

They are not a proper design however for that setup they will work just fine.

More than likely has a gtir motor from the sound of things being its running the 444's and so on

I cannot answer your question, because I cannot just look at a parts list and figure out if it makes sense and is engineered properly. Which is one big reason why I do not have a turbo'd Sentra.

I am concerned that if you personally cannot decipher if that is a good build or not, then you taking possession of the vehicle and trying to keep it running might be more than you can handle.

How are your general wrenching skills and mechanical knowledge? Turbo experience? Buddies with expertise?

I do understand forced induction applications and have worked/built on a few. I have built many autos. Turboed stangs (not mine) v8 240sx (again not for me) supercharged dodge intrepid. and alot of "normal" mechanic work. I just have limited knowledge when it comes to this auto/powerplant configuration. I figured you guys would be the experts when it comes to the sr20 fwd. Just trying to understand the add better.
Thanks for the input so far.
