Yeah, you tend to learn the harness very well when you take one completely apart, strip it down, remove wires that arnt needed, and so on or when youve worked with them for soo long you just know. Hell I could tell you most of the wire colors to every component on the motor. lol.
but yes as far as things go, if the harness struggles to reach to something you think it goes to, more than likely its not the right one, when laid out correctly the harness connects to all its components with a decent amount of slack.
