By the time your done removing that one ball joint nut, im done removing the two strut bolts and the brake hose from the strut to allow enough movement to get the axle out.

well everyone's got their own way, mine works fine. I've done it both ways though, and in fact on the p10 that's how i do it, but for the b13 its just easier to do the ball joint. I've gotten quite good at it.
Someone must not have the cotter pin on the ball joint then, Because I will say this. Trying to get that cotter pin bent straight again and pull it out with the axle in place is almost near impossible.
b13/b14/p10/p11, doesnt matter, removing the strut from the knuckle is the easiest way.

Me and lynch have done so many of these this way we`ve gotten really good at it....haha....no worries on the ball joint boot....usually don`t need the pickle fork....the ford wrench handles it damn well....and when that doesn`t work just don`t be stupid where you line the pickle fork and you won`t tear the ball joint boots.....either way works just fine...like i said....we have done it so many times this way it`s just repitition now.....LOL

I already told him what the problem was, lol. Its quite obvious. There is no other reason why he wouldnt be able to get the other bolt out and get it apart.
Been there done that. The sway bar is doing exactly what its meant to do in this case. No reason to unbolt it from the control arm. just jack the other side of the car up and whalla, problem solved.
