So, the site says all B&M shifters are 1/2 x 20. However, what about B&M made for a Nissan? I think my stock shifter threaded onto my B&M on the old B13, but not positive. Can anyone confirm that the B&M shifter was threaded for the stock Nissan 10x1.25mm?

I was worried about that, which is why I left all the aftermarket stuff off the list I copied over. That didn't sound right to me either. I believe B&M might match factory threads, and that site appears to be very US domestic centric.

I'm with Morgan. You do not get a gold-star for searching and finding the information you asked for, information which you were initially too lazy to search for so you started the thread. That is pure circular bullshit. .....


I did not know the answer. I just called Greg V and asked him to sell me a proper, leather covered, correct pattern on top, shift-knob that would indeed screw on correctly, tightly, just like OEM. He pointed me at Z32 OEM perfection.

Fuck, fuck, fuck a shift knob that has "set screws" and those are supposed to hold it on with no rattling or buzzing. Yeah, sure, whatever with that crap engineering.

He was doing the right thing by coming back here and posting the info in the thread so people who come and search for the info and find this thread, they'd at least have the info. I don't think he was looking for a gold star. =]

Shawn, I've been so lucky with my set-screw shift knob (knock on wood). Never lets loose or moves. Never rattles. Solid as a rock.

I've got a Momo knob around here somewhere...I did not bother to try to re-sell it, because it pissed me off so much I did not want to curse anyone else with it.

I shimmed that thing, blue loctited the set screws, used plasticky goop, you name it, I tried it. Finally said fuck it and called Greg.

I wonder if it is because the pacesetter lever is made of some softer metal or has a softer chrome coating or something. I set mine once, which put divots in the metal shaft, and I made sure I never ever had to move it again because I knew I could be in trouble. Once you make those divots you are sort of locked in stone. The divots plus the shaft material might be what is keeping my screws in place?

I've always thought drilling or bashing with an awl to make three prominent holes in the right place would be my attempted solution if mine ever caused me any trouble. I've had no trouble. No loc-tite. No nothing. Momo knob. Lucky I guess.

Know what I have done with some of those shift knobs Ben, I have removed 2 out of the 3 screws and just end up just using one of them that's the only way that has worked for me....but I don't want to deal with that stuff anymore I just want to thread it on and be done with it.
