Nissan Consult question
hey guys i got a $25 gift card for amazon.com and ive always wanted to mess around and learn how to use consult what a great combination right??

lol any way here is a link to a kit that i found just wondering if any one on here has used it on their own car and what to expect from it,...

i know im gonna need a serial port on my laptop but i figured a RS232 to usb could work

(correct me if their could be an issue)..

i have never used this and im kinda tired of revving up my car to put the ecu into timing mode so for the price it seams like i would be a good add to my tool collection

I have that. Youll still need software to connect to your car. Ecutalk is pretty cool to use but it and conzult free version are mainly for b13. But really, theres not all that much to do through an obd1 ecu anyway. You may as well just get a realtime board or something like that if you want to mess with computer stuffs.

Event with Consult 2 at Nissan you cant do anything but load tests and idle relearn.... Those are the only 2 useful things anyway. But it can also test idpm function, some relays, and stuff like that, but nothing like a car that is consult 3+ compatible, where you can really get in there and program stuff

Go on Ebay..sort by price..purchase.

Find a version of Nissan Datascan v1.4 for free Datascan usage. This was before they required registration.
