Thread: Weird Noise at only a certain rpm

So my car recently started making this like knocking vibrating sound at only 4500rpm and thats it not any higher not any lower. Just wondering if anyone knows what it might be. My CEL came on but it was on before for my rear 02 sensor so I don't think it's that but I'm going to check this weekend. Doesn't seem like the car is running any different either.

That doesn't sound good at all.... I heard of rod knocks only happening at about 3k rpm, but then would go away with higher RPM's.

Shortly after something would break....

Does it keep going or does it stop at the same RPM?

timing chain.... its hitting the guard, i have the same noise

1999 Sentra's don't have Timing guides...

Maybe it's my exhaust harmonizing... i gotta look at it tomorrow if its not raining.

But its only at 4500rpm, no higher no lower, and I didn't hear it driving home from school but my exhaust is loud haha so it's probably still there.

I hope it wasn't rod knock. But, my knock comes in at a certain rpm and goes away shortly after (only at 2900-3200).. Does it happen more when you let off the throttle slightly?
