pcv hose wont do much of anything for how the motor is running. Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check ALL the hoses and replace any that are questionable with new hose. Wont take but like $15 or less in hose from Autozone. Use Vaseline (petrolium) on the orings.

replaced orings but no change. need to get under the car today and check those hoses. Starting to wonder if may be the ecu is going bad or something.

nope nothing yet. I haven't messed with it half because of time and the other half because I have no clue what it is. I still daily driver it and it does good except this idle business. I have been browsing through the IACV and the other valve under the intake delete thread thinking about it just to see if one of those eliminates the problem.

Any way I ran the ecu self diagnosis mode the see if I could get any insight and just got code 55 (everything is fine). may be I'll get to it some more this weekend.

of related engine mods nothing really. a warm air intake with a popcharger with a new filter and a no name 4-2-1 header with what appears to be a 2.5" collector. Thats about it. new tune up stuff and a year old 300zx fuel filter. Going to try an oxygen sensor this week hopefully see what that does.

whats the vacuum at idle.... whats the fuel pressure?... how are your engine grounds?. doesnt sound like one peticular cylinder is to blame just sounds like one of the cars 20 year old components crapped out. Have you tryed another set of wires.. i know u changed everything else on the ignition end

the vid below is what it is idling like I did the initial rev just to get it into its cycle of reving about 1-2k rpm. that was like a week ago now it still does the same but in faster intervals.

as far as checking the vac or fuel pressure at idle i dont have the tools to do so yet and I only have about $3 to my name right now. I've just been dealing with it till I have some cash for parts or tools. Luckily my drive to work is 98% highway.
