Thread: How often to replace tranny fluid?

Guys I'm not sure if my tranny fluid is due for a change. Last time I changed it was in July 2009. Since then I'm guessing I put on around 14,000 miles with just two track days.

This is on a stock LSD tranny using redline heavy shockproof oil because of the turboed power plant. Any opinions will be great.

to be honest im not sure. id change it just for the hell of it.

A general rule of thumb that I use for manual transmission or differential fluid is 60k miles. All the newer luxury cars have longer change intervals (or "life-time fluids") but I like to figure 60k is just about right. I think you could probably do 100k miles and still be in okay shape as long as the level is good.
If you have gone with the fluid for 10 years without going the 60k miles then I'd replace it after the ten years.
