I've honestly contemplated changing the "guts" of a clutch cable to something solid, but never really got around to it (since I no longer own a clutch cable driven car).

I've always thought that even though twisted strands were "stronger", a single stronger strand of something would be more sufficient.

Some people just snap cables. Never really figured out what does it but if you have this clutch cable snapping syndrome oem lasts as long as aftermarket. Buy two and get good at changing them. you can actually do it w/o tools I think.

Devils Advocate for multiple strands of cable.

One strand frays, the cable can still work.

If one cable snaps or breaks, change it or rig it up to work as best as you can or carry a back-up.

Jensen being a candidate for snapping them just to snap them.

I've snapped ONE since driving a B series. And only because I was too aggressive with the car.
