Thread: Sr20de Swap

Okay, so Im a complete noob right now, I want to learn! In short, I have a 99 Nissan primera Cvt (tiptronic) with an sr20de in it with only 120k I also have a slivia s14 with a sr20de in it with 250k on the clock. my question is... would I be able to do a straight swap, from primera to silvia and vice versa? The silvia is manual by the way..

Why not? It's the same engine isn't it? Like I dont literally mean straight swap but it shouldnt be to much of a mission should it?

Same engine, sort of. The outer block design is different between the FWD and RWD blocks. The transmissions wont mount to the other block.

Its been done, but its a hell of a job. You have to fab up where the starter goes, weld here, cut there, drill over there, etc.

Ahhh right! Forgot about the front wheel and rear wheel difference! Thats a b&#*. sr20det would be a good swap though?

What do you mean? haha I would have swapped from silvia to Primera because the Primera has few k's on the engine... How many k's would you say a sr20de could do?
