What ATF fluid is best to use?

Just put a larger pulley on you pump

my p11 never rev'd over 6200 rpm and my PS high pressure hose is leaking. 114k miles. that tells you something...

But i'm not so sure it was your VE revving to 8300 that caused it. High Pressure power steering lines are known to be weak even on stock RR's and Non RR SR's.

Yeah not that I see the actual issue it doesn't seem like revving that high was 100% at fault. Yesterday it happened after I accelerated a few times on the highway, PS pump started whining like it was dying (duh low fluid). This morning during daylight I could see the real issue.

Very tempted to do so, UR stopped making them

Now I'm wanting to do a SS braided line, there are some for S13/S14's, the only problem is getting them to work with our Banjo's and the PS pressure sensor.

regular power steering fluid will eventually kill our pumps, how long will it take? i have no idea.. i've been running it for like 3 years.. but all the while its been whining.. my friends whined a little at first but then i suggested swapping in some ATF an the whine is completely gone!

Also i've noticed that regular power steering fluid causes leaks!!

Delete PS = problem solved.

Na, in all seriousness, you have a good thought. Not sure if its true but could be. At least its a quick fix.

I would remove the PS if I didn't use it as a daily... Now the main problem is the sensor connected to the power hose. Need to find a way around it.

Thats for your idle up during turning, it triggers the fast idle control valve. Its not absolutely necessary just keeps the engine from bogging a bit when stopped and trying to turn the wheel at idle.

I've used Valvoline Synthetic P/S fluid (says design for Hondas on the bottle?) which is a clear fluid for as long as I can remember. I've never had any issues with this fluid.

There is a pressure regulation system built into the P/S pump. It uses a by-pass valve to control pressure in the system. If this by-pass system got overwhelmed you could have experienced higher than normal pressure in the system which led to the failure. That's a lot of revs. Bigger pulley sounds like a good idea regardless. I think there are OEM solutions that are bigger.
