Thread: blown off header egr plug

So driving my car home from the hospital after sitting in the garage for 4 days I hear something run across the underside of the car at 60mph and a load exhaust leak to follow. Got home and noticed the EGR block off bolt missing.

Anyone remember the the size and pitch or where to get one? Atleast until I have time to take the header off and have it welded.

I remember it somewhere....thanx guys!

I knew this was going to be a " Ohhhh well this took me 0.0078 seconds to find..." thread.

But it was stated that the plug taper that was mentioned wasn't solid. I did reply to the thread to get an answer. Need to make sure before I order a $8 screw.

wayne u need the stock bolt that goes on the top of the header?? on cyl 4??

You know on the right top of the header where the egr tube would go. Mine back out on the highway and ran across the bottom of the car. Scared the shit out of me. Lucky I heard it with out the stereo on.

Ha! I remember that issue with the header. What a pain in the arse.

I wasn't saying it in that way I was just trying to inform you on what combination of words worked for me. We all try different words and phrases when we search and we get different results.

I used the o2 sensor adaptor from the de manifold and an extra o2 sensor I had lying around to plug it. completely forgot till just now. I need to get a plug...
