Did your clutch pressure change? Does it get stuck to the floor?

The clutch cable is very simple. On the top of your trans theres a lever that comes out.
Holding onto the lever is a bracket with a cable and a rubber casing over the cable. Inside that little bracket is the but you tighten to adjust. You can do it with your hand than to get it snug you hold the other nut and tighten it down.

Well my clutch pedal has always gotten stuck about 1/2 way up, it engaged fine though. But yes, now the pressure seems to have gone up. Which is why I want to try adjusting it. When it's all the way to the floor I can't tell if it's engaged all the way. But it will go into gears 1-5 with the car on

But its on top of the doggone tranny. Its only easier to find w/o the stock airbox. Clutch cable is right there staring you in the face. If you can't find it you probably shouldn't be trying to adjust it yourself.

Just get the hardware and it will be fine. You clutch might be ok.

I don't know what kind kit it is but eBay prob no good. I like oem/clutchmasters and I'm planning to swap mine soon so here's what I'd get;

OEM cable
OEM clips for tob
brake cleaner
motorcycle chain or some type of lube for the cable

look for the 99cent copper adapter home depot mod.

What most likely happened is your clutch ran out of play and you cable was stretched. So it could not totally disengage anymore. Lucky for (sarcasm) you it went on a 3-4 upshift. That doesn't bode well in my book.

I'd buy a whole clutch and have a spare flywheel handy but I'm pretty anal about my SE-Rs

axle seals too

No, and no.

Spoken like the cheap and cynical.

Ebay is not "fine", most times it sucks, and I sure as hell would not buy an ebay clutch.

If you buy quality aftermarket hardware, it will have the same or better MTBF (mean time before failure) as stock.

94turbo - Whatever you do with your fix, make sure you buy quality parts. Equal to or better than Nissan OEM. With cheap-ass parts you get exactly what you pay for.

I think if you don't have the diagnostic skills to locate the clutch cable, you're probably are better off taking it to a professional or buddy up with someone on this forum who is willing to lend a hand in person. More than likely, you're gonna have to pull the tranny, and at the very least, replace the throwout bearing. I'm not trying to be a dick...I just think diagnosing and repairing it by yourself may be a little over your head at this point. If it's not your daily driving and you're just looking to learn, then I would suggest you start plowing through threads on this forum and the old forum to get a better grasp of what needs to be done, beforehand. 2 cents.

Nah, Hank. That was not the least bit being a dick.

That is some damn good advice.

No offense taken, I've only had this car for like 2 weeks lol. I'm pretty good with cars, I went to school for it for almost 2 years right out of high school. I've always had muscle cars though, aside from my 89 supra turbo (no clutch or tranny issues luckily). I just moved so my stuff is still all buried and boxed. I only looked for a few minutes and it's def not the same as my mustang lol (it was a 66 fastback). But I work 10-12 hours a day and have 2 nights of on call a week. Hadn't really had a chance to take a good look at it. Just wanted to get pointed in the right direction. And luckily it's not my daily. I have an 07 maxi for that lol. But this is the set up it had when I bought it. It makes 274fwhp so I'm not sure if OEM can handle. I was actually looking at a stage 5 spec clutch but I think I'll need a flywheel too and they are expensive lol. Just want to get a direction to move in. Also how do you tell if the flywheel is 108 or 109 spline other than yanking it and counting?

I don't know your budget, but I've got this:

Clutch Kit Bundle, 2.0, Stage 3, Stg 3 : JWT Pressure plate with 2k SE disc, t/o bearing and clips,
A fantastic, vastly stouter but stock feeling, clutch.

You might need this:

Clutch Kit Bundle, 2.0, Stage 4, Stg 4 : JWT Pressure plate with 1 sided metal disc, t/o bearing and clips, axle seals, rear main seal and clutch alignment tool. good for turbo apps up to around 330 whp

You could not go wrong with Greg V at G-Spec and his clutch kits.

In fact, you can't go wrong calling Greg for parts, period.
