My Avenir DET from tigerjapanese came with a dent in the valve cover and a bent fuel rail. Each easily replaceable and cheap. I didn't complain as the engine itself was in good condition. I don't expect an imported engine to be perfect.
That aside, JGY customer service obviously sucks and the part about you only paying $950 so you don't need a TPS is shitty. Should be able to buy one from someone off the forum for like $10 shipped I'd guess? I may have a dual TPS from my DET but not sure if I kept it..I think I threw it away, I'll have to look around for it.

I also wasnt expecting it to shine like diamonds. But they should have been truthful especially when it comes to that type of money. Oh my fuel rail is also bent and so was the throttle cable bracket
Haven't heard of the fuel rails being bent on VE, that's JGY's doing probably...
Sure the TPS and a few others is a common thing that gets broken, but that's no way to respond to the customer... "Tough you overpaid with us, but be happy we didn't charge you more".

I'm with him. But to an unsuspecting person there website looks ok and they look like an ok shop. I've never had problems with them. But I've never bougut anything from them even though they are kinda local.
They have no business sense. This ongoing customer service thing has hurt them badly in every forum. There are ways to say "VEs commonly come with broken tps. I am really sorry. Let's talk about that for a minute." Instead their answer is ALWAYS an unqualified "Fuck you."
Bad clutch; "Fuck you"
Bad motor; "Fuck you"
Bad swap; "Fuck you"
The other thing is this guy probably has a dozen TPS sitting in his shop doing nothing for years. Why not replace these things and charge $975 and save yourself all this nonsense.

Saw the thread title and I was sure it was yet another thread that BenFenner brought back from the grave. I was surprised to find out it is a new post.
