There are two classes of "racing" wheels in my mind.
Class 1) Strong, light wheels meant to handle abuse, even plenty of road abuse since they are stronger (if lighter) than the DOT requires.
Class 2) Super light wheels meant to last enough laps to get you the win, but don't hit any bumps ever.
99% of "racing" wheels recommended around here are of Class 1. 949s are no exception.
