Thread: Conservation of our cars....I'm pissed

Just sad that these are sitting in a junk yard . The original owner should be put in jail . There was a clean white se-r awhile back in the bone yard and it was almost complete.

So hank can this be purchased or is the tittle history ?

I'm not really sure. You'd have to call Shorty's. There is such a thing as a "reconstructed title" in PA. You'd basically need a complete donor car to transfer everything over from. You could always turn it into a trailered track car, if they'd sell it to you. The interior needs to be gutted....it's a disaster. It would need a front suspension and wheels to be a roller. You'd need a fork lift to unload it, at the moment. This project would definitely be a labor of love. If I had the time and money....

Shorty's will not sell the car, in my experience. They claim it is too much of a hassle for them.

They had a pristine 91 NX2K a few years back that got towed from a local apartment complex because it would not start and the owner didn't have time or money to fix it. I figured it was probably a bad starter/battery. I got there when it first was put on the lines and asked if they'd sell it out-right; no dice.

My mom used to date shorty in hs, when I wrecked my corolla (see pic in signature) it was towed to his yard. Later in the day they towed an abandoned car and placed it next to mine, the abandoned car caught on fire and torched my car and a few others. I made a deal with shorty to get an engine (sr20), a door, all the parts that were saveable (audio), and he wrote me a check for $1500 (what i paid for the car).

I never came and got the engine and that was back in 05 I wonder if I can still get it? I think I came out good considering the insurance was only going to give me $1000

Man its such a clean chasis to let go to waste . This is like going to the animal rescue and seeing a dog u cant have about to be put down just breaks my heart ! I want to save them all for future genarations to have .

You've pretty much summed up my reason for posting this. I feel the same way.


For those that don't see things this way, think about how many people have gotten together over the years and how much people have learned messing around with all of the various SR20 vehicles. While these cars are pretty much worthless in terms of $ at this point, it would be a shame not to have things continue due to lack of cars to mod. Like I said earlier, when they're gone, they're gone. Let's preserve and conserve them while we can! Thanks to all of the folks that do....

Hank I feel the same way man. I have owned my Classic just shy of 17 years and I have loved every moment. Even in its current build stage I love walking into the garage and seeing it. I can't wait until the day I can see my 7 year old son drive it and enjoy it as much as I do. The way I see it this car will be in my family forever!

example.....I have a clean,titled,rust and dent free B13 shell here that I am gonna have to just part out soon just to get it out of my yard.

Junkyard will give me 250 with the title....(title cost me 100)

I am asking 500 for the car with everything needed except engine ,trans,and axles....yet I have been lowballed with an offer of 200
