The way I understood it the SR20VE cost way too much to make. They need a cheaper one size fits all motor so in come the VQ and QR. Prob renault's idea since they had 53% of nissan.

I think their reasoning wasnt that the VE was expensive to make, it was going to be expensive to get up to par with emissions adding egr and all that crap to it, probably a precat manifold as well and all that jaz to keep it emissions compliant. Not that it would have had a problem being there are ve's out there with high flow cats passing strict emissions, even strict emission that California has. So its not like it would have been hard for Nissan to do the changes necessary just so we could get rid of them with the jdm manifold. hahaha

But your right, they went with a one motor fits all, can be used as a truck motor or big heavy boat car motor, or a "performance motor" in the spec V. But look where it got them. lol.

SR20 was whored out, but not in America.

Look at the car lists with SR20's (DE/DET/VE/RWD)

I didnt go troll, I brought my arguement up nicely, asked some simple questions and defended the SR from all the b15u QR nutswingers that dissed the SR. Simple as that. I was more than polite, never rude, kept it simple. I created the SR20 vs QR25 thread to keep the trash out of 2JRacing thread about the build because it got out of hand. Not by me while people wanted to jump all over me for defending but hey whatever.

But look at it this way. My thread did exactly what it was intended to do, Move the shit out of the 2J thread because I felt bad their thread was getting ruined and not just by me but all the b15u guys as well talking nonsense, spouting crap that was not even accurate and crap they knew nothing about.

I did my job, which wasnt to start a war but to clean up the build threads. Thanks Ashton.

You must agree that even if you weren't the captain you were definitely the co-pilot.
