The 20V mated to the same 6 speed trans would have saved Nissan millions of dollars. Someone royally F'd up.

QR stock on boost 301 WHP its over. Lets go buy another one for $1600. What a fucking joke.

I think QRs are good for making man cave tables. Shit it is alot taller than the DE motor, I want to make sure my legs are atleast level when I put them up.

There are many QR's with stock internals that make more than 301whp and they have been running for years.

And the dick waggin continues....

I've owned 2 two b15's and both were SE's. I was never a fan of the qr25. The sr and qr crowds are two totally different types of people. Most qr people are young guys who usally don't know to much about cars.

The sentra was always compared to the integras, and civic si etc, but not so since the spec-v.

I'd rather have an srt-4

Sure running for years as in after the dyno it rarely if ever saw boost again after that. lol. Probably never saw a drag strip either other than a pass or two after dynoing. Lets just say this, If i had see 20 other boosted motors blow a rod through the block before 300whp and mine made 300whp, dont you think there would be this demon floating in the back of your mind saying its gonna go any time, its gonna go any time, better not punch it. You gotta drive this thing to work, better not do it. Yeah definitely it would be there. Pffff SR, 300whp, 300wtq on a t2 frame turbo, with more usable powerband and topend, all day long without a thought in the back of your mind that its gonna put a hole in the block. Because Youd melt a piston with a bad tune before you put a hole in the block at 300whp. Not to mention a JDM DE w/ 40k miles on it is a whopping 450 bucks to your door vs 1500 for a junkyard engine that who knows how many problems there are with it.

THIS /thread

Past the classic SE-R our cars where never all that impressive. Thus it didn't attract people that buy it "because it's fast", instead it attracted people that would buy it and build on it. It's similar to how 350z guys tend to be stuck up, etc.

These are some very d-bag comments. Chapz said yesterday the SR crowd is younger that's why you buffoons concentrate on drag racing. I can say that most of the B15 crowd I know are 25+ with ages going up to the late 60's early 70's.

Are for you to say "they don't know much about cars" just shows how much of an ignoramus you are.

Ashton, your comments show just how blind you really are.

This is officially my LAST comment on this topic. I have better things to do than argue with a bunch of grown men who act like children.

Both Joe and then Rick on that forum mention that we are somehow riding the wave of the RWD SR20 as far as aftermarket support goes.

With the exception of aftermarket pistons, rods, and maybe crankshafts (items we rarely make use of) I can't even begin to think of performance RWD engine components (aftermarket or even OEM) that we utilize or that are in existence for us because of the RWD SR20. I can't think of anything. Not one single thing.

Can anyone else think of something we use in the FWD community that was a result of a carry-over from the RWD SR20 community?

Not really, Ive just read through the mountains of threads of people blowing their boosted stock QR motors. More than enough to turn me away from ever ever boosting a stock QR motor especially pushing the very extreme limits of it.

Pushing a stock QR to 300+whp is like me trying to push a stock SR20 to 600whp, even then with someone who knows how to tune your more than likely gonna lift the head and blow the headgasket before you throw the rod out the block. Just look at what Jaime did with a stock DE motor, I believe he went right at 500whp with it, bone stock 124k mile de and did several dyno pulls and it was raced several times at the "local" track at even higher boost before it finally started to push coolant out the radiator from head lifting on stock headbolts.

JP did the same thing with a stock VE pushing it close to 580whp, bone stock VE, before it finally lifted the head and pushed coolant. Throw some studs and a good Cosworth or VET headgasket on there, crank the studs down and I dont see why 550-600whp isnt possible for a good amount of time.

Yeah your right but dont look at it to hard I might think you want to do something with it.

The QR is a pc of crap go ask any Nissan Mech or service writer. Oh dont because he will say its the best engine out there to line his pockets.

I have had countless of people sell these cars because of motor swap issues.

I had good friends who bought them and could not pass the 60,000 mile warranty.

I spoke to 3 of my friends that have been Nissan Mechs for over 35 years and I have asked them what is the worst engine that Nissan has produced and they said the QR.

Now the QR25 from the B16 is alot better but it still is nothing to right home about. What has this motor acomplished, besides leaving people on the side of the road, emptying peoples pockets and buring oil poluting our air.

NOTHING

I think what he was trying to say is aftermarket parts like pistons, cams, cranks, rods, head studs, headgaskets, injectors were all made because of the RWD det's popularity which helped make the fwd sr popular along with it. That is not that case at all though. Other than those items listed, nothing from the rwd is really transferable. But hell, JWT more focused on FWD SR's than RWD, while their stuff was usuable in the RWD SR's, it was marketed towards the FWD crowd. While Greddy, Tomei, HKS were all marketed more towards RWD guys.
