Exactly. Although it will never happen it is the only way. The problem with that is the high standard of living that we have grown accustomed to will go way down and the majority will have a problem with that. The masses feel that they are entitled to new cars, big houses, big flat screen TVs etc. on minimum wage. The truth is that these very things are creating this countries financial problems. Take all those things away and we are still way better off than a large number of people in this world that work for practicaly nothing and go to sleep hungry on cots over dirt floors every night.

Hotshot def burned us, My header lasted like 2 years before it was rusted to hell and cost over $450 years ago.

People keep referencing Hotshot but that is not the best example. A lot has changed since then. The market for sport compact cars was so small, nevermind the market for Nissan Sentras! At the time they were THE ONLY game in town. They basically could do whatever they wanted, enthusists had no other choice. But then things changed, as they always do.

yup, wich were all out performed by the over priced poorly built hotshot header.

so thats why people paid what they paid.

also keep in mind the economy was tons better, so really 500 or 600 for a header isnt bad, and is cheap by todays standards for a header that performs.

granted they broke and cracked alot, it was the only option we had that made power.

so it was what it was.

they saw it coming, they could have improved quality, designed a header that made more power, lowered prices and attempted to keep customers.

instead they choose to come out with the gen6 charge like 700 dollars it was getting out performed by the 2 inch ssac that was going for 150 on ebay.

bye bye.

some of these parts, and some of the services offered by the majority of these companys are ridiculous.

i have a few companys in mind. great products, but overpriced. if they dropped their prices theyd get alot more business. but they insist on keeping prices up so the demand stays low.

i was talking to a few evo guys the gym last night. it sucks that we as a community (import people in general) have such a hard time finding companys that produce parts and companys that install parts that truely care about teh customers. its all about the money and nothing else. just enough to satisfy the customer and get their cash. very rarely does some one tell me that so and so or xxx companys went far and beyond to meet their expectations at a great price. you just dont hear it.

True. Those stories about quality products and companies are out there but they are far and few between. The good stuff is expensive. I often wonder about the quality of the really expensive stuff out there. Like a $1500 header for an M3, or a $3000 set of coilovers for the same car. That header better make serious power and last a lifetime!

All while we sit here and bitch about a $500 header.

3. There are no manufacturing regulations over there. They rape the environment hard on a daily basis. They literally dump toxic waste and manufacturing by-products directly into water suppplies ect. Adjacent countries are being poisoned.
4. We are greedy.

Until these things change, which they never will, everything will continue to be made in China. Think about it. We have minimum wage, manufacturing standards, etc. It's not like manufacturing in China can be done at 1/2 the cost as here in the US. It is more lke 1/1000 of the cost! If they are paying a laborer $1.00 a day in China that's like 1/58 of what we would have to pay a $7.25 minimum wage worker for an 8 hour day! The labor might as well be free at that point!

The actual rates on average are about $200 or less a month for a 14hr+ work day (there are people actually working 30hr+ days when say a new product line is launched) 6+ days a week. They were really better off as farmers.

I agree with your points NJse-r and just have to add that the greedy people with the money are making the biggest problems. They buy off the government to make more money for themselves. They have the money and the power not the average US citizen. The problem isn't as much the wage slave in the US, as they have to buy whatever just to get by. The filthy rich have laid things out so that the average joe makes just enough to get by and nothing else, and this is where our economy is going. The majority of the US will be in retail/customer service jobs within the 10 years or so.
