Do NOT spring for a Model year 99 G20T transmission as
1) They did not come with LSD
2) Are not any stronger than the 97-98 SE-R tranny (which by definition, is as strong as paper after 185-200 whp, which most turbo cars can surely eek out even on stock boost for a T28)

P.S The tranny option you will be looking for when it comes to the B15, is Model years 2000-2001 Sentra SE PP (performance package) model. These models also came with the SR20 as well

There you go, that is what I was referring to. Boostlee laid it out for you, but I still bet that answer is in the threads previously posted.

ok so far from the info ive read. ive got this:
the tranny i want is a p11 or b15 (there the same right?) correct me if wrong plz!
the car it comes out of is a 2000-2001 Sentra SE PP (performance package) model, but is this the only car i can source that tranny from?

ok my tranny in the car now.
1 and 2 wont go into gear
3rd goes in but when clutch is released the car dont stall. i was in 3rd gear and it popped out with grinding noises but dont grind or anything now.
4,5 and R all still work!
i have a uncle with a big diesel shop for coal trucks.
they have a transmission man there that could fix the tranny in the car now for labor free cost, just cost of tranny parts ill need.
would you fix the b13 tranny till i can source the p11 or b15 tranny.

let me know what yall think!

I personally wouldn't reuse the B13 transmission, because the design of the transmission is inherently flawed for anything over 200 whp. Yes, you can cryo treat the gears, but the fact that the case design as well as the issue with the gears spreading under load, this becomes a much more far reaching and repetitive issue

Yes

P.S. Its time you start doing a little bit of your own legwork young grasshoppa!!

Hell yes.

Source new tranny parts from Greg V at G-Spec.

Source used tranny parts on the forum. Create a WTB ad in the correct section, and/or call Andreas Miko, just click the previous link I posted under Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket, and his number is in his signature. Order his bracket while you are on the phone with him. Two birds, one stone.

Have your uncles dude fix your tranny for free labor. Labor is the majority of the cost if you are not doing it yourself. The parts will be very affordable.

Get the rest of my previous numbered list, including whatever Ashton said for tranny fluid, drive your car correctly, ie...don't abuse the shit out of it, and be done with it for now.

Personally, I wouldn't either. I hate the B13 tranny and think it should have been a global recall for Nissan. Fuck that tranny and the "band-aided" B14 tranny as well.

However, this fix is constrained by a serious budget issue with Grasshoppa.

I did get 36K out of my original, all OEM, Nissan B13 tranny, fluid, clutch, bracket-thing, motor/tranny mounts, etc... before anything went wrong. If Grasshoppa can get that accomplished for less than $300 worth of parts, seems like a reasonable fix.

Ashton runs the B13 trannies and likes them.

shawn b you guys are correct i do need to do some researching
but i dont know the first thing about a transmission! reason i made the thread, kinda need a sticky about the different types of trannys we can use and so forth would be a very good thing imo.
so the parts are cheap to replace in the b13 tranny?
i agree, i hate the b13 tranny too. but have only had a total of about 4 hours driving with that tranny. but you guys here know yalls stuff about the trannys.
id much rather get help from yall then me doing research and researching it wrong and wasting money (did this with my msp)
im not good with locating things by searching ill be the first to admit it and i do better if i ask the questions instead of searching and finding a wrong answer and going by that wrong answer.
but with the motor stuff ill do my research. but with trannys i just couldnt research that cause im so clueless. and there probaby real simple too.

but thanks for putting up with me and my noob questions that have been answered 10000000 times before, all i can say is thanks!

but now my noob question is
which one the p11 or b15 tranny comes from the 2000-2001 Sentra SE PP?
if its a p11
where do i source a b15 tranny? out of what? (or other way around)

thanks,
chris.

This is the B15 trans you want, if you decide to get a B15 trans:

B15 (VLSD - Viscous Limited Slip Differential) tranny - "00 - "01 Sentra SE w/ (Performance Package or Sports Package) (RS5F70V is the transaxle model number)

You do not want the B15 Non LSD tranny out of the '02 Sentra SER.

B15/P11 tranny's show up on the classifieds section from time to time. Once you decide which tranny you want, make a thread in the classified section under "Wanted". (I think ShawnB covered this already??)

Edit: You can also try joining other forums such as b15sentra.net, g20.net, sr20forum.com, b15u.com, nissanforums.com, nicoclub.com, etc. etc. etc. This will help you broaden your search for whatever transmission you decide to get!! You will probably find one on here though but the more options for you the better it will be!!

EDIT/EDIT: FYI, I wasn't saying this is the trans you have to get, I was just saying this is the B15 trans you want if you decide to get a B15 trans. Alot of guys on here will tell you the P11 trans is a better turbo trans because of the longer gearing!
