sr20ve(t?) metal head gasket size?
I searched but didn't really find concrete answers.

So, the VE MLS head gasket that Greg/Gspec sales is the VE or VET gasket?

VVL Metal Head Gasket, This is the factory “Metal Head Gasket” for the SR VVL Engines. This head gasket should hold more power for turbo applications and is less likely to blow

What is the thickness of a stock DE graphite head gasket? 1.2 or 1.1mm?
What is the thickness of the VE(t?) MLS head gasket?

Thanks!

The Gasket that Greg sells (as per your link) is the Cylider Head Gasket for the SR20VE '20V' and the SR20VET. They are the same part number for both engines. They are metal. Nissan Part # 11044-8H600.

Many threads stated that the VE and VET head gasket are different. Assuming they are the same, then what is the thickness of the one Greg sells?

The SR20VE Head gasket from 1997-2000 is the "paper-type". Pt. # 11044-1N500

The SR20VE '20V' and the SR20VET Head Gasket from the 2001+ P12/T30 is the metal-type. Pt. # 11044-8H600.

I do not know for certain what the gasket thickness is. I have never measured one myself. I have seen others suggest it is 1.4-1.6mm.

Greg V. would know for sure what the thickness is though.

ahh I see, so at one point the VE had a paper gasket but now the VET and VE both share the same part # and metal gasket. OK, I think it makes sense now. Thanks for clearing some of this up!

^ Yah pretty much. The first generation VE came with the 'paper-style' gasket and the second genereation VE (20V) came with the 'metal-style'. You can use either or, depending on your needs.

Hmmm, if the thickness of the paper type is less than the metal, then wouldn't that lower your the compression of the VE that was using the metal gasket? Was there a change? Did Nissan compensate w/the block/head height somehow?
