Thread: how to tell gtir head bolts from det

I bought a motor from a forum member on the old forum that was suppose to be fresh. Had rod knock on start up and ever since then its been sitting in my garage in pieces waiting for me to get around to it.

Question is, he said it had gtir rod bolts and head studs but I don't know how to tell.

Any info?

unless the block was drilled and tapped for the larger bolts more than likely it doesnt have them.

You can physically look at them and see or measure them. 12mm for GTIR bolts our stock ones are 11mm
