Thread: Noise coming from front of engine....

Just wanted to confirm something with those who are much more familiar with the SR20DE than I am. Ive had my '92 SE-R for 7 months now and it recently started making a metalic grinding noise in the front of the engine.

Its seems to be coming from the water pump area so I assume the bearings are done. All the water pump failures Ive dealt with have happened suddenly and with no noise. The pump was not leaking as of today.

Sorry to sound like a total noob. I just want to make sure this is the problem and not something totally different. I removed the valve cover to look over the timing chain and it looks ok so Im guessing the water pump is the issue.
