If they are made by ES, I remember reading that the black is impregnated with graphite, but the red is not. That's supposed to be for lubrication. I read that on the site I looked up different ES bushings on.
prothanes made by energy suspension I had used both and the color is the only difference I usually get them at amazon.com $55 free shipping within the us
The black is supposed to be a little more resistant to oil and grease that will "eat" polyurathane. But I dont know of anyone has ever really destroyed any prothane from regular use, or at all.
