Thread: WTF? My car won't start

Haven't driven my car since Friday the 9th. Today I go to start it up and it won't start. Sounds like no compression at all. What the hell is going on? I'm stumped and out of my league here. It has been very cold lately, would that have something to do with it? If this turns out to be a dead engine, I think it will be time to sell.

Is it turning?

If it is check your fuel pump (it would be better to actually check your fuel pressure). That is the only way to tell if you are getting fuel or not. I can bet that your not.

Yes it's turning and I can hear the pump hum when turn the key to the acc position. But the sound it makes, sounds like my Z when the engine was bad. Sounds like this here the sound of no compression - YouTube this can't be good.

There is a heavy fuel smell when I try to start the car, I think the engine is kuput. Car was running fine when I last drove it on Friday. Makes no sense.

Maybe you're not getting any spark, or a good spark. try new plugs and wires.

I've been having issues with one of my cars not starting if it has less than a quarter tank of gas, just throwing it out there.

I put gas in it on Friday. It has a little over a half tank in it. Maybe it's the cold weather . I wonder how much I can get for it if I sell it. If I could get $1500 for it, i'd sell it.

Guess it's not done. Weird. Maybe the warmer weather helped it out? Wish I knew more about engines and shit. :o
