Possible blown headgasket
This is on my 91 SE-R, car has 228k, engine right around 200k. So I'm not 100% sure that it's blown or not, I've been driving the car for the last 45k like this, lol. Basically the car never warms up fully, especially in the winter and the heater never blows hot, only medium warm which really sucks when it's 10* out. It will in the summer as long as the temps are above 80. It also empties the coolant reservoir every 3 to 4 weeks. There are absolutely no leaks(yes I've checked the heater core) and no oil getting into the coolant.
I've replaced all the hoses, water pump, radiator, rad cap, thermostat(3 times, last two with OEM Nissan parts), thermostat housing, and coolant temp sensor, basically everything except the heater core. All the stuff I've replaced for various reasons, put a hole in the rad, tore a hose, wp locked up, ect.
I've also noticed that the upper hose starts to back off the block even though clamp is nice and tight. The only thing I can think of is there's a very small crack in the gasket letting coolant into the combustion chamber to burn and causing the system to overpressurize and cause the t stat to stick open not letting the coolant fully warm up.
Anyone have any other suggestions on what else it could be. Bare in mind that I've drove the car for the last 45k like this and the condition has never got any worse. BTW the engine has right around 200k on it. No I have not done a compression check yet, haven't had much time recently, but that's next on my list, I'm kind of scared what the results might be
