shouldn't do anything other than what is currently happening....I have never personally had this much trouble bleeding the system tho, but not to be ruled out. It esentially causes cavitation of the pump, impeding flow.

the coolant choice wont matter. as long as it is ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based. But make sure you have it mixed properly. worst case scenario, take the t-stat out and drive it. see if it over heats again.

I like the big funnel chriscar method no messing/stripping with that bleeder screw.

1. Get a big long black funnel from autozone and an inch of heater hose that slides over the small funnel end (it makes the funnel fit snug in the radiator hole).

2. Take your rad cap off stick the funnel with the bit of hose in the hole.

3. Fill the funnel with coolant, check for leaks maybe ziptie the funnel to the hood prop if the funnel moves around on ya. Don't fill it up all the way the coolant will rise when it gets warmer slowly

4. Start the car let it get right up around 160-170 degrees (not over mind you it will boil it out and make a mess.)

5. Turn the car off sqeeze the hoses and listen for air bubbles try and work them out. I let the car sit and cool a little and repeat step 4 just to be safe.

6. Let the car cool all the way down and remove funnel. Replace cap and your done.

Tip make sure not to spill coolant on your alt if you do flush it with distilled water or something so as not to kill the alt.

5.

Eh no need for all that $hit, just jack the front up, put a funnel on the radiator, let it run till fans kick on, squeeze the hose, wait for fans to kick off and your done.

what happens when all the coolant leaks out because the funnel doesn't fit the rad hole

U now water is wath cools down ur engine more.

In the summer u should run 1/4 coolent and 3/4 water that way u have more water that will cool down ur car faster.

In winter its more coolent than water

Not with a funnel that screws on the radiator... Even if it does, so what?

That is true however the car shouldnt overheat with 100% coolant, if it does its either a bad T-stat, plugged radiator, etc. Just because you bought a used radiator doesent mean its not 50% or better plugged up with residue. Not directing this at you, but everybody in general.

If you run a high water to coolant mix then your water pump is not going to last long, as the seal wont get good lubrication and start to leak eventually..... Yes i speak from experience.
