Thread: Interchangable hubs

I beleive my wheel bearing is starting to go on my car, it might be cheaper for me just to swap the hub for now, is the B13 - 2.0- 1.6 Hubs the same? I don't see why they would not be but who knows.

Good to know, I am going to try to hit the junk yard early in the morning and get this job banged out....I can't even keep up with my people around corners,.... the side where it needs the bearing feels like the fucking lug nuts came loose or the tire went completly flat....scary shit. Hopfully all goes well.

Know what's the funny thing Morgan there is no play in the wheel. I jacked it up shaked it left and right and up and down the only play in the hub was a little bit in the steering rack less than maybe a 1/8 of a inch when moved left and right.

Does it make a grinding noise when you spin the wheel?

No grinding at all, the only time you know something is wrong is when you put load over that wheel during cornering. That's when I get all sorts of vibrations and shuddering from that wheel. I am also thinking it a axle issue, I got lucky at a junk yard yesterday and picked up a hub from a se-r which is rare find for a junk yard out in Boston. We will see where this leaves me after today.

Usually I found it's the inside wheel bearing that makes the noise in a corner. You may also check the other side.

So I swapped the hub today, checked lower ball joint and tie rods both were fine, took it for a test drive......and the grinding/vibrations are still there, wasted time money and effort. It's not the passenger side Nissanboi because I can hear and feel the vibrations from the driver side front. Previously I swapped to a different axle on that side and the issue persists. I am starting to think that it maybe the phantom grip in the trans or the tie rod leading into the steering rack now. Then along with all the headaches I found that one of my brake pads were separating from its backing so I also had to purchase new brake pads.....That I am glad I found today at the very least.
