Idle issue please help!
So, i recently just finished rebuilding my SR in my b14! I replaced the headgasket and piston rings and crank gear. Now that im done i started it and the idle jumps between about 800 and 1100 rpm's. It's also heating quickly so im gonna replace the thermo. Also when i drove it, i give it gas and it starts to bog out. And when it's idling and i hold the throttle in one position the rpm's go up to that certain rpm then gradually decline even though im still holding the throttle in that same position. If anyone can please guide me through some helpful facts or let me know what you think it might be. Thank you!

sounds like limp mode. Do you have a check engine light? Is the maf sensor good?

I have a check engine light but thats because i have a b13 tranny so i have that censor unplugged. And the maf was good before the rebuild so im guessing it's good.

You need to pull the codes. there is a screw on the ecu that you turn to get it into diagnostic mode. The maf ground can go bad and cause some strange behavior.

Well i pulled up the codes. I got a crank sensor and a maf code! So i think it turns out your right. Would i have to replace the whole maf? Or do you think its something with the wiring?

I would reground the maf first. I would also make sure the grounds are tight on the intake manifold and the main ground on the frame rail. If that does not help then you can always get a multimeter and check the voltages at the plug.

Well i checked the grounds around the intake manifold. I think its just those two that screw into the top of the mani that split out from the harness. Thats all i can think of right now. And how would i reground the maf?
