Power window failure, suggestions needed
I would like it if you could take a second and suggest possible reasons that would have to do with my power windows no longer working. I installed cams yesterday and now the power windows do not work. To me, they are unrelated.

I checked the 25 AMP fuse and it is working correctly, not blown. The security system would not arm when I removed the part and the part does not look like it is blown. Not brown sparks or any signs of damage of a blown fuse.

In a 200SX, there are three switches for window control. Two switches on the drivers side for both windows and one switch on the passenger side for the passenger side window. There is also a lock switch that I have tried but that only has locked the passenger side window in the past, not the drivers side window.

All three do not work. I have replaced the drivers side switch module in the past when that side stopped working (but the passenger side still worked).

I hear no noises of any clicking or a window actuating when I press a button.

I have disconnected the battery, disconnected the ECU and reconnected both those. Taken out the fuse and cleaning the contacts with cleaner. I have not tried anything else at this point.

Thank you for your time.

Replace switch module again

The switch module still allowed the passenger side to operate independently when I would press the passenger side switch. Only the drivers side module and switches did not work last time.

That is a large difference between the last time and this time.

Start at the window motor and work your way back..passengers first
-unplug the motor and put 12v on it directly to see if it works.
-If the motor works(I am sure it does at this point) start working your way back with a meter checking voltage.

This will find your problem pretty quickly. It will help if you have a second person to work the switches while you do this .

Happened to me as well. Driversside would work, but passengerside didn't. After replacing the switch module everything was fine.

On my second (and current) NX I had the same problem, but the other way around. Again, replacing the switch module fixed the problem.

They tend to fail alot (at least on the NXs), causing both problems with the windows, as well as with the central locking.

Sometimes all you have to do is open up the switches and clean the little terminals in there.
I had to do that on every switch of my old Camry. You might want to check that out, so you dont have to replace them.

UPDATE: I took the drivers side switch out and cleaned it with duster. Still does not work.

I drove the car for the first time over a larger distance on my way to work and tried every accessory.

Power windows do not work. (I do not hear the relay clicking from what I can hear)
Cruise control does not work. (Light does not come on, unit does not click as relay would be engaged)
Rear defroster does not work. (Once again, no clicking of the relay)

Everything else is all systems go as usual.

Only those three items are out. I will trace the wiring diagram in the FSM and see if I can isolate where the three systems intersect.

Issue Resolved.

Fuse no. 7 in the panel by your knee was blown (7.5A). The old man failed to mention to me when he took the distributor off, he pulled it harder than normal since i just replaced the o-ring there and he hit the battery and fuse box near there and must have knocked something loose.

FSM helped me identify where exactly to look, huzzah!
